First Meeting of AZ Historical Novel Society Great Success!

About 40 people interested in historical fiction gathered at my house on June 8th to inaugurate the Arizona chapter of the Historical Novel Society. We are almost 70 strong on our member roster. Both the Phoenix metro area and Tucson were well represented at the first meeting. We are a wonderfully diverse group of published and pre-published writers, readers, small presses, bookstores, editors and reviewers. I look forward to learning from the collective wisdom of our group. We ate good food, socialized, chose our future meeting formats and discussed other business.

Our next meeting will be on July 27th at 4:00 at Judith’s house (email for directions).
Topics for the speaker portion: Those attending the Historical Novel Society Conference in Florida in June will share some highlights and Jessica McCann, author of All Different Kinds of Free, will talk about the importance of entering your work in writing contests and some clues about how to do that successfully.
Socializing portion: Potluck food and wine–sign up via email to Judith.
