Murder Cursed the Raven is the 4th book in Morse’s entertaining, twisty Petra Rakowitz paranormal murder mystery series. This time Petra, a lawyer with magical witch abilities, goes to a dreaded meeting with an ethically challenged lawyer to protect her friend Luke from an unfair lawsuit—only to find the lawyer dead.
Defending a Friend in this Cozy Mystery
Luke and Petra have some history that gives them an especially strong bond and plenty of reason for Petra to defend Luke when suspicion falls on him. Luke has spent time cursed into the form of a quote-spouting raven, and there’s the ever present threat that he’ll return to that unfortunate form.
Hilarious Array of Suspects in Murder Cursed the Raven
As Petra tries to protect Luke, she uncovers a hilarious array of suspects with quirky characters, far too much bed-hopping, and murderous motives. Lucky for Petra, she’s got her boyfriend Ira and her magical therapist Jake on her side as the body count goes up and her friends’ troubles get ever more complicated.
Plenty of Turns and Twists
Murder Cursed the Raven is a fun cozy mystery read with heartwarming friendships, villains that are as easy to laugh at as fear, a plot with plenty of turns and twists, and an engaging heroine (who loves good food). Readers will have no trouble starting with this 4th book if they wish. Morse does an excellent job filling in or reminding about needed details from earlier books.
